AOOP Mission Statement

  • To enhance psychiatry's contribution to the well-being and productivity of workers, leaders, and work organizations.

  • To enhance the knowledge and skills of its members through various training opportunities and professional networking.

  • To liaison with other professional groups concerned with workplace health and mental health.

  • To encourage and support the practice of organzational and occupational psychiatry.

The Practice of Organizational and Occupational Psychiatry

AOOP members practice OOP in many settings, and many combine providing OOP services with clinical practice. Members provide a diverse range of services, including consultation, treatment, and evaluation to workers, management, government, and corporate entities.

AOOP Member Bulletin

AOOP serves the profession and its members by providing a forum for teaching, learning, and networking. AOOP is dedicated to expanding member benefits. Current benefits include:

  • Annual meetings designed to offer skills acquisition to both the psychiatrist contemplating entry into the practice of OOP and to those who are currently engaged in providing OOP services, and access to other educational activities sponsored or co-sponsored by AOOP.

  • Subscription to the AOOP Bulletin

  • Listing as an AOOP member on the AOOP website, a tool used by businesses to find OOP practitioners.
