AOOP 14th Annual Meeting

The complexities and stresses of the modern workplace have created new opportunities for psychiatrists. As consultants or clinicians, psychiatrists can help address a wide variety of organizational, clinical, and medical-legal problems that arise at work.

AOOP invites you to attend the 14th Annual Meeting of AOOP: Occupational Psychiatry in the 21st Century: Challenges and Opportunities. We have designed three pre-conference workshops (Psychiatric Disability Examinations, Introduction to Consulting in Organizational and Occupational Psychiatry, and a Psychoanalytic Case Conference) to complement the main conference.

The entire meeting will provide practical and stimulating information about the roles psychiatrists can play in the workplace. At the completion of the conference participants will be able to apply their clinical psychiatric skills to meet the needs of business. They will be able to design specific interventions to manage workplace transitions and crises, including violence assessment and prevention.

The conference will also benefit psychologists, social workers, and EAP professionals who want to take advantage of these growing opportunities. Attorneys who work in employment and disability law will benefit from this opportunity to hear how organizational and occupational psychiatrists address these problems. In addition to the educational content, the conference provides an outstanding opportunity to network with the leaders in organizational and occupational psychiatry in the U.S. and Canada. We look forward to seeing you in Washington, DC.
