Dues

At first glance AOOP membership may seem expensive, but compared with the cost of belonging to and attending other organizations it is an excellent value. The following table compares costs:

• APA-No food – not even coffee at breaks; additional charges for CME ticketed courses

• AAPL—Lunches $50 per lunch with speaker; additional $250 meeting charge if not staying in meeting hotel, no dinner included

• AGPA—No food

• AOOP—Dinner included, continental breakfasts included, membership and meeting registration included

 Note: APA, AAPL, and AGPA include a newsletter and journal with membership.

General Member–US:
(ABPN Certified, Eligible, or foreign national equivalent)

$690.00 USD per year if renewed by January 1, 2012; $790.00 thereafter.

A 50% discount is offered to the following:

• Psychiatrists in first 5 years of post residency practice

• Former members who have not attended in the past 10 years (Subsequent years will be at the full membership rate)

• Psychiatrists > 75 years of age are welcomed at a 50% discount.

50% Discounted rate: $345.00 USD per year if renewed by January 1, 2012; $395 thereafter.

Associate Member:
Non-psychiatric physicians

$690.00 USD per year if renewed by January 1, 2012; $790.00 thereafter.

Resident Physicians and Medical Students

Please inquire. Scholarships are available to cover the cost of annual meeting attendance for a limited number of medical students and resident physicians, and reduced fees are available for those not eligible for scholarships.

Foreign Colleagues

We welcome foreign colleagues, and in recognition of the expense associated with attending annual meetings on a regular basis we offer a reduced membership fee with no meeting attendance. If attending the meeting, the fee is the then applicable US membership fee, which is inclusive of the meeting.

$150.00 USD per year (without meeting attendance).
